Spring day

oil on board 8*10

oil on board 6*8

This is a place I found last year, it's way out near black diamond, I was determined to paint three paintings and I did. Now my goal is to paint three 6*8's in one hour. So that I can get the information down quickly. I painted under the shade of a tree then I turned round and painted another.
The Cloud Painting, I was just seeing if I could paint the cloud formation as a speed process as cloud forms change very quickly, in the end the paint was as thick as cream cheese, it was still fun to do.

In the deep woods

This is another elbow river painting it's near elbow falls but you have to walk a fair ways and wade through deep water to get to it.

Spring Runoff

Here is a painting that I did Tuesday, I had to walk a fair bit through a bunch of streams but that is the fun of getting to a place to paint. I was attacked by many bumble bees, for some reason I guess I was smelling sweet that day.

I managed to set everything up, get my values organized, little drawing and spent a few moments thinking what I wanted to achieve. the previous painting I had painted were too dark, so all through this painting I was saying dont do it, dont make that mountain that dark.
It sits ok in the distance and I like the flowing rushing water.
